Hi

I'm a fully certified Pilates instructor and Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist specialising in creating solid musculoskeletal foundations and strength and enabling uninhibited, pain free movement. A bit about my qualifications:

  1. Level 5 BTEC HA Remedial & Sports Massage
  2. Level 3  Mat Pilates instructor
  3. Stott Pilates Intensive Reformer Instructor
  4. Level 4  Can Rehab Oncology Exercise Prescription Therapist
  5. Scar Therapy Qualification

Before discovering Pilates and biomechanics was my passion, I worked in a fast paced corporate retail environment which was a challenging career that enabled me to build fantastic teams of talented people and understanding and delivering what our customers wanted from us. It also provided the foundation and drive for me to launch Koru Bodyworks.

How did I start?

My journey with Pilates started after having children, in an effort to combat back pain and poor posture that had developed over many years of sitting and desks and in meetings.

At the time I did very little exercise so wanted to find something that would support entry into better physical fitness and general health and was quickly inspired by the improvements made through doing Pilates, so dedicated myself to intensive training to become an instructor.

This introduced me to a deeper understanding biomechanics and a passion for the body and movement and how I could help others become stronger and pain-free.

I studied at the UK's leading soft tissue institute - The London School of Sports and Remedial Massage - successfully qualifying in the highest UK level of Soft Tissue therapy.

I can help you, too

My main drive is to seek to understand you and your individual needs, creating sessions and programmes tailored to you and what you need for day to day function or for your hobby and sporting goals.

Being a kiwi, keeping it simple and down to earth is part of the service, but essentially helping you achieve what you came in for in an open and supportive approach.
